Moving Forward With Covid-19

Over the last 35 years, ASTI Environmental has worked to earn the trust of our clients by providing professional, and quality, environmental consulting services. As a result of the current COVID19 pandemic, ASTI is taking steps to ensure we continue to honor this commitment. At ASTI, we are monitoring the situation daily and implementing new health and safety policies and procedures as we deem necessary.

Currently, we are moving forward with our existing contracts and are continuing to accept new work. A month ago, we implemented new policies and procedures to safeguard our employees and clients while competing projects to meet your closing and financing deadlines. To our clients, we assure you that we are still committed to working safely in your best interest, even in times of uncertainty. The following procedures will apply until further notice:

  • Field work for site inspections will only be conducted on vacant land, or in unoccupied, vacant or idle commercial/industrial buildings. For properties with occupied or residential buildings, we will conduct a site inspection on the property and building exterior only. We will NOT enter any residential or occupied structure at this time unless we use respirators, and full haz-mat suits.

  • We are asking building owners with occupied buildings to conduct a video conference on their phone as they walk us through a tour of the building so that we can conduct the internal inspection.

  • We anticipate that municipal and government offices will be closed at least through May 1, so we will keep you informed of any delays or data gaps associated with file reviews at both municipal and state office buildings.

  • Delayed FOIA requests that are not critical to the Phase I ESA conclusions will be defined as “data gaps” in the final report so as not to delay report delivery.

  • For any report published with a data gap resulting from the inability to inspect a building, ASTI will conduct the building inspection free of charge after it is determined safe to enter occupied buildings. This must be conducted within 180 days of the report date to clear the data gap.
