PERMITTING FOR REPAIR OF PRIVATELY OWNED WEIR
ROSE TOWNSHIP, MI

ASTI Environmental was retained by Maura Jung, a private property owner, to prepare a permit application to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for repair and survey of a weir on an un-named tributary in Oakland County, Michigan.
An on-site meeting with the MDEQ was held to explain the deconstruction and reconstruction process.  Prior to deconstruction of the weir, all debris was removed and disposed off-site.  The planned reconstruction required the top of the weir to be at or below the original elevation.  Substantial changes to construction and materials were also limited.
ASTI prepared the MDEQ Joint Permit Application.  The application included plans and exhibits, soil erosion control plan, details of areas to be repaired, and site restoration details. ASTI also prepared the required survey of the weir before and after the repairs.
The MDEQ issued the permit for repair and construction took place later that year.
