Muskegon, MI, December 14, 2015:  The Muskegon County Land Bank and the City of Muskegon Heights have selected ASTI Environmental to provide Pre-Demolition Asbestos Surveys and Abatement Monitoring services for 37 properties in the City of Muskegon Heights.  ASTIs Director of West Michigan Operations, Joe Beutler, will lead the scheduling of all field activities, QA/QC of lab results, report preparation, as well as oversight of all abatement activities. 

Ann Arbor, MI, December 11, 2015:   Prior to joining ASTI as an Aquatic Ecologist, Paul Rentschler served as the Executive Director of the Huron River Watershed Council for 9 years.  In a  recent HRWC report, Karen Snyder interviewed Paul about his vision, challenges and achievements at the helm.  Paul’s article can be found on page 6 . . .  

ASTI Environmental is proud to announce that the Hart Downtown Historic District has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places as of November 24, 2015. ASTI was contracted by Michigan’s State Historic Preservation Office to complete the nomination for the Hart Downtown District in 2014. After more than a year of community meetings, collaboration with local and state officials, extensive historic research and documentation, the State Historic Preservation Review Board unanimously approved the nomination in September of 2015 and the nomination was  submitted to the National Park Service in October of 2015.

The Michigan Emerging Real Estate Trends Report, the regional complement to the National Emerging Trends in Real Estate Report, was released on November 11th at the UM/ULI Real Estate Forum in Detroit. ASTI Environmental sponsored the report and ASTI staff members contributed significantly to the report as authors, graphic designers, and data analysts. 
The Michigan Emerging Trends report provides an in-depth look at the state of Michigan’s real estate marketplace, in both perceptions and real data.

Michigan’s Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund is now open for business
Michigan’s Underground Storage Tank Authority (MUSTA) is now accepting requests for determination from owners and operators of refined petroleum underground storage tanks as a means of meeting their financial responsibility requirements.

November 2, 2015, Lansing, MI:  The Michigan Chamber of Commerce has selected ASTI Environmental’s Director of Industrial Compliance, Bruce Bawkon, to lead a one-hour webinar entitled; Environmental Issues 101: A Primer for Business Professionals on November 19th from 10am – 11am est.

Tom Wackerman, President and Founder of ASTI Environmental will present two courses to the Commercial Board of Realtors continuing education programs on September 18th and October 9th. 

Tom Wackerman to be an instructor on real estate development basics and managing incentives accounting for the  MEDA Economic Development Basic Course on September 16. 

August 25, 2015, Brighton, MI:   Ms. Sarah Coleman has joined ASTI Environmental’s Industrial Compliance team which has doubled in size since 2013.  Sarah will be helping manufacturers, automotive suppliers and chemical companies prepare Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure, Storm Water Pollution Prevention and Pollution Incident Prevention Plans;
