The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requires facilities installing or operating equipment that may discharge pollutants to the atmosphere to have an air permit.     DEQs Air Quality Division maintains Michigan Air Emissions Reporting System (MAERS) reports for commercial, industrial and governmental sources of air pollution in Michigan.
